"Dear Mr. Allard,
For our 8th grade graduation we have been assigned to write thank you letters to adults in our lives. I immediately thought about you. If it weren't for you I wouldn't be playing the saxophone. I will always remember you as my first band teacher in 4th grade. I am so happy you encouraged me to start band. My dad's old saxophone would be rotting away in my basement if you weren't there. When I was really young, I hated music. My parents always dragged me to piano class and told me to have fun. It seemed so boring to me. I loved being in your class. The music was so cool. I remember my favorite songs were Ghostbuster and Let's Go Band. Random memories I have are practicing for the Portland Junior Rose Parade and competing in the Solo and Ensemble Festivals. I had so much fun in the M.U.S.E. Program.
The saxophone will be my lifetime passion. Forever I will have this skill. When I am old I will be thankful that I started playing instruments.
