Over the past 40 years, Tom’s music performance career on saxophone, clarinet and flute has taken him from the bullfight stadiums of Mexico and the top concert halls of Japan to major jazz clubs all across America. Tom has had the opportunity to perform extensively with world-class musicians like Buddy Collette, Bud Freeman, Bruce Forman and Laurel Masse of the Manhattan Transfer. He’s led bands in steady “house” engagements at The Carnelean Room atop the Bank of America Building in San Francisco and The Signature Room on the 95th floor of The John Hancock Building in Chicago. Tom has been a featured performer in concerts at The University of Illinois, Yokohama City Jazz Concerts and Indiana University East.
Tom has over 40 years of teaching experience in public and private schools as well as offering private lessons on saxophone, clarinet, flute and improvisation. He’s had numerous students make the Illinois IMEA Allstate honors band (both concert and jazz.) A flute student of his for 7 years was the named the top high school flutist in Illinois. A jazz trumpet student of his was named the number one jazz high school trumpet player in the California. Tom’s students have received full college scholarships and become professional musicians.
