“Jump Start” Classes for Beginning Band Students
These sessions are free as well as all of our workshops. In addition to students weekly classes, M.U.S.E. will be offering free workshops throughout the year to give students the opportunity to get lots of extra-special attention. The Jump Start Sessions and workshops, scheduled on weekends, are a lot of fun and we encourage parents to stay and observe if you can. Your support is crucial in their success and we want to educate parents along the way.
Our first round of workshops are called “Jump Start Sessions”. Students meet in groups of “like” instruments and our staff works with them to understand the basics on their instruments including how to assemble and take apart their instruments properly, maintenance and care of the instrument, how to get a good tone, and playing their first three notes. Each instrument has different issues in terms of how to play and maintain.
We HIGHLY recommend that students come to as many of these free sessions/workshops as possible throughout the year. We will try to accommodate parents in terms of the location of these different workshops throughout the year by utilizing space in El Cerrito and the Hayward area. We understand that some of these sessions will be a bit of a drive but we will do our best to make each event worth the efforts to attend. We have schools from as north as Pinole to as south as San Jose area.
Please R.S.V.P. so we know when you are coming.
