M.U.S.E. (Musical Understanding through Sound Education) was established in 1986 by the current director of operations Bryant Allard. M.U.S.E. is in over 45 schools both in Portland and the San Francisco bay area offering quality music instruction before and after school. We are currently expanding our program to the Los Angeles area and homeschooling networks.

M.U.S.E. offers:

  1. Once a week group lessons grades 4-8 (in some areas we offer it to 3rd grade)

  1. There is no cost to the participating schools; payments are made directly to M.U.S.E. by the parents. The cost of these lessons are half what it costs to take privately and students have the added attraction of playing in a group setting (your school band)

  1. We have qualified instructors who are carefully selected for their abilities to not only teach music but inspire and motivate the students. Complete background checks are made on all teachers.

  1. M.U.S.E. carries the proper liability insurance necessary.

  1. Instruction in flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion (xylophone and snare drum)

  1. No previous experience necessary

  1. Fun multi-school winter and spring concert events scheduled

  1. Other performance opportunities include: Annual Solo and Ensemble Festival, Honor Band, Parades, Free Band Workshops for students

  1. In some schools we offer group piano lessons
